2010 Brazilian Symposium on Neural Networks (SBRN 2010)
October 23-28, 2010, São Bernardo do Campo - SP, BRAZIL
SBRN is the leading conference in Brazil dedicated to Neural Networks (NNs) and other models of computational intelligence such as Fuzzy Logic and Evolutionary Computing. The main focus of the conference is on original theories and novel applications dealing with the use and analysis of computational intelligence techniques.
Like previous SBRN editions, we expect the proceedings to be published by CPS, a division of IEEE CS Press. Selected papers will be published in special issues of several international journals (to be announced).
Papers must be written in *English *and *must not be* longer than 6 pages, including all tables, figures, and references (style of the IEEE Computer Society Press). Formatting instructions, as well as templates for Word and /LaTeX/, can be found here <ftp://pubftp.computer.org/press/outgoing/proceedings/8.5x11%20-%20Formatting%20files/>.
Papers must be submitted in PDF files using the JEMS submission system at https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=1061
There are seven different tracks to submit a paper. In the first one (regular) the paper is submitted to SBRN general track. The other six tracks, as will be described in detail below, refer to Special Sessions of SBRN (Computational Intelligence for Bioinformatics, Evolutionary Multi-objective Optimization, Computational Intelligence in Forecasting, Adaptive Intelligent Control and its Applications, Hybrid Intelligent Systems, and Fuzzy Systems).
The deadline for paper registration/upload is *March 22nd., 23:55 BRST.*
All submitted papers (regular and special session papers) will be reviewed by at least two experts in the field.
By submitting papers to SBRN 2010, the authors agree that in case of acceptance at least one author registers to the conference and presents the paper. Furthermore, it is the conference policy that at least one of the authors of accepted papers has to register **before** the deadline for sending the camera-ready paper. Accepted papers without the respective author registration **before* *the deadline will not be included in the proceedings.
*Deadline Submission for Regular and Special Session Papers:* March 22, 2010
*Acceptance notification:* May 10, 2010
*Final camera-ready papers due:* June 7, 2010
In addition to Regular Sessions, SBRN 2010 will have Special Sessions. All the accepted papers, regular and special sessions will appear in the SBRN proceedings.
The Special Sessions are organized and chaired by senior researchers who have knowledge of, and a special interest in, the topic of the Session.
One of the aims of these sessions is to provide Organizers and participants with an opportunity to concentrate on focused topics in the areas related to the conference. Both the emerging research areas, as well as the application issues can be targeted.
A minimum of 5 papers is required for each Special Session. If a session has too few papers, accepted papers will be allocated to regular sessions.
The Special Sessions are:
1. Adaptive Intelligent Control and its Applications (Organizer: Adrião Dória Neto - UFRN)
2. Computational Intelligence for Bioinformatics (Organizer: Marcílio de Souto - UFRN)
3. Computational Intelligence in Forecasting (Organizer: Guilherme Barreto - UFC)
4. Evolutionary Multi-objective Optimization (Organizer: Aurora Pozo - UFPR)
5. Fuzzy Systems (Organizer: Heloisa Camargo – UFSCar)
6. Hybrid Intelligent Systems (Organizer: Marley Vellasco – PUC-Rio)
