Data: Monday, November 24, 2008 At 14:00
Duração: 2 Horas

No dia 24 de Novembro (segunda-feira), às 14:00 horas, na sala H-324A, teremos a seguinte palestra convidada pelo grupo de Engenharia de Software.

Todos estão convidados a assistir!

Title:
Flexible production of software systems - a product line based approach

Abstract:
Increasingly companies today must develop not unique products, but whole families of similar but distinct products. This is natural consequence of the need to adapt to different customer requirements.
Product Line Engineering addresses this concern by focussing on large scale reuse among similar products. This can lead to order of magnitude improvements over traditional software development approaches.
A natural consequence of product line engineering is a more stringent definition of the software production process.
However, diversity of customer needs might even lead to variation in these production processes and the associated product variability.
In this talk, we will present some support that was developed recently in our group, we will address this need to respect variation of variability information and cover some recent tool support we developed.

Bio:
Prof. Dr. Klaus Schmid holds a professorship for software engineering at the University of Hildesheim. He is active in the areas of Requirements Engineering and Product Line Engineering since the mid-nineties. Over time he was involved in numerous research and industrial projects. His specific interests are in value-based product line engineering and the engineering of adaptive systems. He authored numerous refereed papers on these subjects and was responsible for several workshops and tutorials on international conferences in this area.
Previously, he was also department head for requirements engineering and usability engineering at the Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering. He received a diploma degree and a Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Kaiserslautern.
